Hey there, beautiful human! I’m excited to have you in my chair and create some hair magic together. This guide explains what to send before a consultation, how to prepare your hair, and what to bring so your LivforCOLOR appointment feels relaxed and productive.
What to Send for Your Hair-Color Consultation
- Current-hair photos: clear images in natural light showing roots, mids, and ends.
- Inspiration photos: two or three examples, plus what you like about each one.
- Color history: salon color, box dye, lightener, vivid color, henna, smoothing services, and other chemical work.
- Maintenance expectations: how often you wash, style with heat, and can realistically return.
- Timing and budget: share both honestly so Liv can recommend an achievable plan.
This information is especially important for vivid color, major blonding, and color corrections.
Should You Wash Your Hair Before the Appointment?
Balayage, Highlights, Ombré, Toners, and Other Off-the-Scalp Services
Shampoo the day of your appointment and skip conditioner or use it lightly. Heavy product buildup may interfere with lightener.
Root Color, Fully Bleached Roots, and Other On-the-Scalp Services
Wash one to two days before the appointment and arrive without styling-product buildup. If you are unsure which instruction applies, ask Liv.
Health, Masks, and Rescheduling
Masks are not required, but Liv is happy to wear one when requested. If you are sick or have been around someone contagious, please reschedule. Liv may also reschedule an appointment when signs of illness are present.
Please Come Solo
The private studio is cozy and designed for calm, focused appointments. Unless arrangements have been made in advance, only the client receiving a service should attend. This includes children because childcare is not available.
What to Bring for a Long Color Appointment
- Eat beforehand and bring snacks for longer sessions.
- Bring your charger so you can stay comfortable and connected.
- Wear practical clothing. Avoid white or delicate fabrics that could be affected by color or lightener.
- Bring a change of clothes if you want a different look for finished photos.
- Plan payment: cash, Venmo, and Zelle are accepted.
How to Help Vivid and Blonde Hair Last
Lightened hair benefits from gentle handling, professional home care, heat protection, and a maintenance plan that fits the result. Vivid color may transfer to light towels or pillowcases, particularly while wet.

Review the Policies Before Booking
Please read the Salon Policies for deposit, cancellation, late-arrival, adjustment, payment, health, and color-guarantee details. Deposits are required for select services, and major transformations may take more than one appointment.
Still Have a Question?
Every head of hair is different. Contact Liv before your appointment if you are unsure how to prepare or whether a service matches your goal. Replies generally arrive within one to three days.
